Eastchester and Tuckahoe school budgets pass

The 2011-2012 Eastchester and Tuckahoe school budgets put to voters today both were approved by the electorate.

In Eastchester, the district's $71.8 million budget passed with 1458 votes in favor compared to 1112 against, a 56.7 percent approval margin. The district's voters also approved Proposition 2, a separate $300,000 amount to be paid for with this year's tax levy, which will fund repairs to the exterior of Anne Hutchinson Elementary School. That proposition passed with 53.8 percent approval, 1261 votes to 1084.

In Tuckahoe, voters approved the district's $28.9 million budget with 363 yes votes and 293 no votes, a 55.3 percent margin of approval.
